Powerful new heavy weapons squad

Heavy weapons squad Behemoth is next! I heavily considered missile launchers, but heavy bolters seemed more thematic for Imperial Fists!

Heavy weapons squad Behemoth are up next! I was heavily considering missile launchers for this squad but I changed my mind to heavy bolters. It’s certainly more in keeping for the Imperial Fists. Saying that, if I get around to another squad, I’ll definitely be going with some heavy missile launchers!

First up is the sergeant, where I took a bit of inspiration from DaemonRich and used a helmet from some MK IV marines sergeant. He did use some Mark III shoulder-pads which I almost went with, but at the last minutes decided not to!

I have loaded the next nine squad members with the same stuff. I did attach an augury scanner to one, just in case, but the rest all had some pouches attached. For the longest time, I refused to add pouches as it was “extra” painting – I am glad I have since moved on from that mindset.

Once my Imperial Fists Armoured Spearhead army reaches completion, which is a long way away, I will need to decide on the next direction to take it. I will go down the route of Stone Gauntlet, but I’d prefer to go with something different before that. Will that require another heavy weapons squad? I have built one tactical squad and another is on the way for the armoured spearhead. I am still thinking of going with a plasma weapon support squad – mostly because I want to paint plasma!

Regardless of what happens, I want to start adding more customisations to my squads. They don’t need to be massive changes, but I would like to add something to start personalising them. Alongside that, I am still thinking of what style bases to go with! It is proving to be somewhat tiresome. The Iron Warriors I have for Horus Heresy are running around in a battlefield mud/ trench type basing.
