In today’s post, we are building barbgaunts for my Tyranids army! It will be heading to 1000 points soon based on our previous post on the topic. I’ll be writing posts on various things, not just building Tyranids in the future! However, look below for the vaguely full-length video on building barbgaunts.
Let's build the barbgaunts!
There are only five miniatures per sprue, which isn’t too bad! Building the barbgaunts is relatively easy, as they don’t consist of many parts!
As you can see below, they are made from four parts, or five if you include the base! I would say that sub-assembly is not needed for painting. There are a few fiddly areas, but I don’t think it warrants fiddling around with multiple parts.
You will notice in the video that we speed through building them pretty quickly. As always, I spend most of my time cleaning up the parts!
I am afraid I won’t be doing a painting video for these particular miniatures. The scheme will be gone over a few times in the future.
I am editing painting videos of the termagants and the Winged Prime. Unfortunately the quality is not exactly as I would like, but it shall do for now!
Building Tyranid Neurogaunts!!
Folks, it turns out that I completely forgot these existed after building them!! I never primed them, and as a result, they are entirely unpainted! I did record the building of them, though, so it’s not a complete disaster!!
A node-beast leads ten of these creatures. All 11 have the same loadout, so nothing fancy is happening here. The neurogaunts main focus is not combat; instead they extend the synapse range of your characters!
You can see on the sprue below that all 11 fit on a single sprue. Thankfully, they are all pretty quick to put together, so much so that it seems like cleaning the mouldlines takes most of the time!
